That’s why, I didn’t put an “About me” in the Pine Cone Diaries “About” section.
But, for anyone who wants to know about the Canadian human who writes, researches, curates, publishes, and delivers Pinecone Diaries to you, here’s a quick author bio:
I’m a Dad to an awesome teenage daughter and Partner to an amazing mom and best friend.
We have 2 dogs that keep life fun and make our family complete.
I have a Bachelor’s Degree in English with a minor in History.
Worked for 20 years in Developmental Services.
15 years as Manager of Supported Group Living.
In January 2024, it was time for a change.
Left my career and started working as an emergency supply teacher and loved it.
So, I applied to Teachers’ College, was accepted, and will start in June 2025.
In January 2024, I started writing online and loved it too.
I write and publish 5 free, 100% Canadian Substack Newsletters.

In the summer of 1999, I lived in a van while managing an ice cream shop during the day and stocking grocery store shelves at night, in Sauble Beach, ON, CAN.
I play guitar and like to write songs and sometimes sing.
I can’t imagine life without music and listen to lots of it every day.
I believe in creating a community where everyone is welcome and valued.
I like sharing things from Canada and connecting with other Canadians.
And also enjoy meeting people from around the world and love that the internet helps make this more possible.
I love lacrosse, Star Wars, Shakespeare, and being near water.
I can’t imagine life without curry.
