I remember running with my heart in my throat, terrified at the threat of "le Bonhomme Sept-Heures" when I was a little girl! Mind you that was a long time ago (I am now 68 years old), but just the name of "Bonhomme Sept-Heures" immediately evoked a little jolt in my psyche. Yes, we were terrified and ran home at the mention of him. I was raised in Sherbrooke, Quebec, the 7th of nine children, so the threat and legend was probably handed down to me by my (then) evil older brothers. Thank you for your story! Brought back memories!
No, my children did not suffer the Bonhomme-Sept-Heures trauma. But to this day, I am unable to watch any horror movies, while my offsprings love horror. I don’t know if there’s any correlation…

Yikes!! That sounds terrifying! Thank you very much for sharing your experiences. I hope you didn’t have any nightmares after reading this.
Out of curiosity, did you pass this legend on to any little people?

Lol. Good for you for stopping the cycle of child trauma related to that legend!
That’s Interesting that you’re not into horror movies but your kids love ‘em. It does seem to suggest a correlation.
